Heritage Rebuild
The entire home, originally built in 1913, was rebuilt and replaced ‘like for like’ for Dr Martin Holland. The build was completed in August 2019, and it took two years to rebuild after many years of planning. Architects Chaplin Crooks and Steve Brown Builders meticulously recrafted this home in line with Dr Holland’s no ceiling insurance claim. Casabella came in to work on interior design and selections with Dr Holland halfway through the build so that colour specifications could be followed. Many items needed to be ordered in time to have them either imported and installed or manufactured here in Christchurch. Apart from the marble fire surround, stained glass windows, and ceiling roses that were reclaimed, these are the only original features in this room that were salvaged; everything else is new and crafted to detailed specifications.
